The following resources are available to all Hawkeye faculty.
Digital Resource Lab
The lab supports faculty's needs for instructional resources in the classroom. We can assist faculty in producing media-rich content, streaming video, and much more.
Faculty can check-out media and various types of equipment, consult about the use of media and equipment in the classroom, and receive hands-on instruction in using the hardware and software that is available in the lab.
Learning Lab
The lab is available for faculty development, training, meetings, and conferences. The lab includes laptops and resources for teleconferencing, video conferencing, webinars, webcasts, and meetings.
Teaching and Learning Services Library
We provide resources, books, CDs, and DVDs for Hawkeye faculty and staff to use in the Library or may be checked out. Materials cover a variety of topics, including but not limited to active learning, assessments, coaching, plagiarism, curriculum, and portfolios. See the Brobst Center for Teaching and Learning Services Resource Collection.
Multimedia and Assistance
You are encouraged to use technology as a tool to getting your students to think about or see a problem/concept in a method they can use to transfer it into long term memory through application and rehearsal. A variety of technology options provide numerous possibilities for creating an engaging learning experience. Learn how to choose, prepare, and integrate instructional technology into your course.
However, if technology fails or is used incorrectly, it becomes a learning barrier rather than an asset. To make the most out of your classroom time, it is important that you are able to use technology effectively and with confidence.
The Instructional Technology Specialist supports faculty's needs for instructional resources in the classroom. Schedule a consultation for assistance in creating and using media-rich content, streaming video, and the most effective use of resources for teaching and learning in various instructional environments.
