Nominate a Commencement Student Speaker

We invite all faculty, staff, organization leaders, and coaches to participate in the nomination process for the Hawkeye Community College 2025 Commencement Student Speaker.

The nominated graduate should be someone who recognizes the significance of this occasion and is prepared to send fellow classmates into the world inspired, optimistic, and excited to take on their post-graduation plans. The graduate should also have great communication and presentation skills.

Nomination Process

1. To nominate a graduate, please complete the form below.

2. Once the nomination has been received, the commencement coordinators will reach out to the graduate to request they complete the student speaker application.

   To ensure all nomination applications are received in a timely manner, you can reach out to the graduate personally to encourage them to complete the student speaker application.

3. All applications will be reviewed and evaluated by a selection committee.

4. Finalists will be invited to meet with the committee and provide a summary of their speech.

5. Content and delivery of the speech will all be considered in the final selection process.
